PHILOSOPHY OF HAPPINESS

A THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL EXAMINATION BY MARTIN JANELLO

Socialization is a fundamental need of humans that encompasses several subcategories requiring human interaction. Additionally, we have a fundamental need to be in and interact with nature. Deprivation of either will cause deep unhappiness. Consideration of these facts can point us to establishing and abiding by wholesome terms of conduct.

Social interactions are essential for human wellbeing in multiple aspects. Individuals therefore have the right to situate themselves in ways that optimize such interactions for them.

Socialization requires common or at least commonly accepted objectives and means. Social needs and fears of social incoherence may engender arrangements enhancing happiness. However, they may also cement benefits at less than optimal levels or lead societies fundamentally astray.

Socialization is a selfish undertaking with essential ulterior effects. It creates value for counterparts of socialization efforts to obtain return benefits. Yet some needs guiding socialization derive direct satisfaction from ulterior improvements.

People build walls around them so they won’t get hurt only to discover they made themselves prisoners.

It was an age when people wondered what scheme someone being nice to them attempted pulling to take advantage of them, or they suspected weakness currying their favor.

You will never be more alone than when everybody thinks you have many reasons to be happy, but you are not as happy as you should be.

In the end, the friendship we give and receive matters most.

Ask nothing, trust to give.

The world would be friendlier

if we befriended new people.

We may suffer needlessly because we are too proud to admit helplessness or ask for help. Assistance is a human trait, but we may have to activate it.

What a great world it can be if we help one another. We can witness the power of love unfold and envelop us. Why are we not acting accordingly?

Good human relations are simple on any level. We all could be friends if we would practice what we should learn in early childhood.

Much would be achieved if we would approach one another as respectful, compassionate friends even if we do not agree with or know the other.

Care. The world is a desperate place much more through carelessness than intentional malice, which is also frequently caused by carelessness.

Friends stand with us so we might stand with them or what they value.

in joy anxiety and grief

i did not come here for advice

just to hear myself and reflect

thanks for helping me listen

True friendship survives any trouble.

We can find our humanity by considering other individuals alternate versions of ourselves.

Knowing the power of friendship, we also know weakness and dread when it is absent.
